Shetland Heritage yarn recreates the original characteristics of handspun ‘wursit’ used in old Fair Isle garments. The yarn is replicated from that found in knitted Fair Isle garments in the collection of Shetland Museum and Archives.

The small balls are perfect for stranded knitting where different colours are are required in smaller amounts. We find the yarn knits smoothly and quickly but is grippy enough that it really helps with tension in colour work.

Care: Gentle hand wash in lukewarm water, smooth out/block and dry flat.
